After October 7th the world will not be the same, I definitely will not be the same. Witnessing genocide live-streamed on social media for the first time in history. It’s surreal it’s horrifying and terrifying to see and terrifying that a lot of people are okay with this happening to the Palestinian people, the majority of whom are children and are even supporting the genocide.
Decent human beings irregardless of race, religion, age and location are speaking and acting out against state and government-sponsored and enabled genocide as we should. It is the responsibility and duty of every single one of us to do something and say something against this genocide of the indigenous Palestinian people by the settler colonial occupiers that is Israel.
There is a cliche floating around on social media – ‘but what can I do i’m just one person said 7 billion people’.
I watched a video on YouTube about former female IOF soldiers in Israel who served in the military. They talked about the horrific abuses they had committed against Palestinians, a lot of the victims being children and even killing innocent Palestinians, some being children. They spoke about the psychological and emotional mental health problems they are suffering from.
This is due to their own oppression, this is from the justice of God. They also spoke about the abuses they received from male IDF soldiers and senior soldiers if they spoke out about a soldier doing something wrong. They were shunned, mocked, soldiers would walk past them and spit on the floor, they even said women with blonde hair and blue eyes are treated better like Hitlers’ dream utopia during Nazi Germany.
Young children in Palestine have no self-defense at all against this brutal occupying apartheid military regime, their only weapon of defense is throwing stones at military-protected vehicles. It’s so small and insignificant but historical nonetheless and does not do anything effective but, the woman said that the sound of these stones on the vehicles was so loud it has caused her PTSD and would frighten her. Years later when she had a baby and the baby would cry she would be transported back to the noise of the stone-throwing and start to get angry and rageful at the baby crying having traumatic reactions to the noise.
Any little resistance to the illegal occupation matters no matter how insignificant you may think it is, so we say if all you got is a small stone stand up with stones David we say!
LONG LIVE THE RESISTANCE FREE PALESTINE and may we all bear witness to a Free Palestine and a return of the Palestinian people that were expelled during the first Nakba (catastrophe) in 1948 and may we all visit the holy land and masjid Al Aqsa, Islam’s 3rd holiest site in a free land, insha’Allah.
Rest in Peace Faris Odeh
